Beth and Adam’s Bunker Bay Wedding

Bunker Bay Wedding – Beth & Adam

From the moment we met with Beth and Adam, we knew this was going to be one special day. After showing off the great outfits they’d be wearing, the guys told us that they had prepared to play a Kate Miller Heidke song for Beth to walk down the aisle. These talented guys would actually be playing the music on the beach. They had a guitar, a small drum kit, and a bass, with an amp running off a car battery via an inverter. How awesome is that? Well that was just the start of things.

Getting married in the South-West of Western Australia was an easy decision for Beth and Adam, after they had gotten engaged at the world-famous Busselton Jetty and having been on frequent holidays to the region.

Choosing the stunning Shelley Cove near Bunker Bay for their wedding ceremony gave them the perfect backdrop of beach and Australian bush. The native vegetation in this spot grows right down to the edge of the sand. There are picturesque rock outcrops at each end of the small bay, and the beach itself is made up of mainly small shells. Traveling down to Bunker Bay, Neil and I experienced a range of weather, so we weren’t sure what would greet us when we got to our destination. When we met the boys in Dunsborough where they were getting ready we had full sunshine. By the time we were on route to the ceremony it looked like it was going to pour at any moment. And by the time the bride arrived we were back to full sunshine…talk about four seasons in one day.

Beth and her bridesmaids had the cutest parasols and bouquets of sunflowers, which provided great contrast against the electric blue of the bridesmaids dresses. The two flower girls and one pageboy only needed a little coaxing to get things under way.

Following the lovely ceremony we spent some time getting formal shots of the bridal party before heading back to Busselton Jetty for more photos and the reception. Unfortunately, there were several big events being held in the ground around the start of the jetty, including a band of the bands festival and a sand castle building competition, each with a few thousand people in attendance. While this did limit our options somewhat, we made the most of the situation and found a few secluded spots for Beth and Adam to have some quiet time together…and of course have their photos taken.

Following the bridal party session we only had to walk a short distance to the reception being held at The Goose. Guests had already been arriving for a little while and were making the most of pre-dinner drinks and nibbles. The restaurant was the perfect size for the occasion, leaving room for mingling, a dance floor and relaxing on the alfresco balcony in the fresh sea air.

All the best to Beth and Adam. Keep up the romantic surprises that we witnessed on your special day. Finally, a big thank you to Neil at Ever After Photography for having us along on the day.
